Denver is located in Colorado, famous for the stunning scenery of the Rocky Mountains, a rapidly growing craft brewery culture, and the availability of various outdoor activities. Many regions of the state are also characterized by comparatively low rates of crime and a more relaxed living environment, free of the noise of a large metropolis. If safety and serenity are the features that attract you to some towns, then, perhaps, you should take a closer look at these Colorado towns.

Berthoud

Surrounded by Longmont on the south and Loveland on the north, between the Big Thompson River and US Highway 287 lies Berthoud, Colorado. The founders of the town, Bertha and Hermann Gudmundsen, created it in the 1870s as a resupply point for settlers. Nowadays, Berthoud still has a population of roughly 6,900 and stays true to its roots with old-fashioned architecture and a cozy Main Street with locally owned stores and restaurants.

One of the great focuses of the community is its ability to boast a very low crime rate. Data presented here depicts that Berthoud has an almost negligible number of violent crimes compared to the state’s average. Such amenities include parks and open spaces within the town and recreation such as Heron Lakes Golf Course and the annual Berthoud Day among others. The town is also located to ensure that those who want to access the big city facilities of Loveland and Longmont do not have to miss out on the peaceful town for long.

Windsor

Located twenty miles north of Fort Collins, Windsor is one of the charming Northern Colorado towns. Established in the year 1882, Windsor has still maintained a rural feel and prides itself on offering security to its approximately 33293 inhabitants. Year after year, both violent and property crime rates in Windsor lie below the state mean levels.

Windsor boasts more than 35 parks and open spaces, and 42 miles of paved paths; perfect for walking, biking, and scenic views of Longs Peak and the Rockies. It is also close to Fort Collins and metro Denver for work and fun in various cities and metropolitan areas. However, on the last note, people can go home to Windsor, where they can enjoy the calm atmosphere and welcoming, small-town feeling.

Lafayette

Lafayette, the beautiful city of Colorado is located twenty miles northwest of Denver approximately on State Highway 287. Located between the Flatirons and the Rocky Mountain foothills, the city of Lafayette shares the advantages of proximity to the metro area with extensive acres of Open Space and parks to restore one’s spirit.

Lafayette has been ranked among the top 100 safe cities in America, multiple times, and yet the city provides ease of access to a large metropolitan area. Rates of violent crime in Lafayette are significantly lower than Colorado and U.S. averages, putting it in the top tier of the safest cities on the Front Range.

Still, Lafayette offers more than just fun in safety and scenic beauty which is evident in the United States. The Public Road of the city continues to lure buyers with top-end boutiques, galleries, antique stores, and much-loved restaurants and microbreweries. It has also annual festivals like Peach Festival and Art Night Out that are highly appreciated by the public. People can get lost for hours on the nature trails and the open streets of the community or go to the Well Golf Course and the aquatic station. Located just 30 minutes away from downtown Denver, those in Lafayette can enjoy a good craft beer at the patio cafes in Old Town Louisville or attend a concert at the Red Rocks when the bustle of the city beckons. They can then go back home again to have a quiet time in parks, trails, and peace.

Brush

Covering a land area of 6,707 square miles, Brush is a rural city located in the northeastern plains of Colorado, ranking as the state’s “Safest City” as ranked by Backgroundchecks.org. Even today Brush was established in 1884 and despite its growth still has strong ties to agriculture, sponsoring activities such as the Morgan County Fair & Rodeo and the upcoming Parade of Lights.

This cannot be refuted as the statistics show that Brush is the safest city in Colorado according to the claim made by Brush. Brush is lucky to record less than 80 property crimes in a year and violence-related offenses, Brush does not come anywhere close to the state and national averages. Another aspect that affects the sense of security of citizens is community closure according to quality of life surveys of the city.

Living in Brush, people do not feel as if they are missing out on too much action as there are also numerous fun activities to do in Brush. They have Brush’s countryside which is ideal for horseback riding, hiking or simply taking walks in the quiet natural environment. For those individuals who desire city views and noise, Denver or Fort Collins can be reached within under 90 minutes for city flair. Still, at the end of the day, Brush delivers what has become the safety.

It’s called fresh mountain air and small-town security.

Although Colorado is generally regarded as being rough, these towns demonstrate that you can also have low crime rates and scenery in the state. Among them are Fort Collins – a university city or Brush – a town with lots of plains, but it doesn’t matter where you choose because Colorado towns have fresh mountain air and easy access to big cities, without sacrificing safety and security.
